Abid Hussain – Funding Co-ordinator – Best Deal 4 Baby

Abid Hussain was unemployed for 7 months before taking the opportunity to get back into work at Best Deal 4 Baby as a Funding Co-ordinator. Abid started on Monday 22nd March.

As a Funding Co-ordinator Abid is responsible for working with the local community, helping to run courses such as CLAIT, which teaches people computer skills. Abid will be responsible for working with organisations such as Tesco, Barclays and the National Lottery to gain funding from them so that the community projects at Best Deal 4 Baby continue to run and be of great benefit to the local community.

“Since I have been here I have been working directly with the Big Lottery Fund. It is a great experience which I thoroughly enjoy being a part of and which has helped me gain many skills.”

“In the last month I have put in 6 funding applications to support our CLAIT courses, the new community hub, and furnishing our new premises. I have sourced these through a number of organisations such as Biffa Award, Tesco, and Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.”

“The people who I work with are more like family members then work colleagues. Everyone is always so helpful and always available to help each other. They have all made me feel very welcome and part of a great team that is doing so much to help within the local communities.”

When asked about the Future Jobs Fund scheme and the team, Abid had this to say: “The Future Jobs Fund team have been very helpful and I know exactly who I need to contact with any queries I may have. I believe the Future Jobs Fund is a great project that has helped so many people like me gain employment; I would highly recommend the project to anybody who meets their criteria.”
